What does Legion M mean to you?

Legion M is an open door of many possibilities and opportunities to be able to gain knowledge and experience in this awesome world of films and entertainment. It is being involved in and sharing the same passion for films/movies. The biggest bonus is being able to be part of a creative family that enjoys what they do on a daily basis.

What, in your definition, is the craziest thing you’ve ever done in your life so far?

Jump off a cliff in Colorado during a river rafting trip. It was part of the tour and experience and everyone did it so I also jumped...given I’m not a good swimmer and terrified of swimming anywhere else but in a swimming pool!

Do you have a favorite Director or Actor whose work you admire and gravitate towards?

I have to say I love Christopher Nolan.. his films are complicated and yet others are simple but and full of action .. yet some films like Dunkirk are so real and raw and digs deep into our history. Inception and Interstellar were amazing. The stories have so much depth and layers that make his films stand out from others.

Do you have a favorite book you’ve read? Or favorite author?

I read the book Wild by Cheryl Strayed and loved it. I felt like the book was geared towards women and empowerment, self discovery.. but also just surviving life and pushing through,  and not giving up.

What story would you love to see adapted to film that hasn’t already been done?

I would love to see an amazing film with an amazing cast produce content that goes deeply into human trafficking and how it is increasing in certain countries including the U.S. There have been films and documentaries made but none yet with A list actors who I feel can truly bring the awareness and attention it lacks, inspire and move people to do something about this heartbreaking situation.

Light Side or Dark Side?

Def light side.. I’m always going to fight for what’s good to protect others .. but can transition to the dark side given the situation if betrayed.. which makes me unpredictable.

What do you do for a living?

I eat, drink, and sleep for living but I work as a Cyber Security Analyst. Yes, I am the family and friends tech support.

What are some of your hobbies?

I love watching movies, in other words, Netflix and Chill. Also, love playing my guitar with my daughter and working out.

What is one of your most proudest accomplishments?

My most proudest accomplishment is my daughter. Watching her growing up is amazing because she is a blend of my wife and me. Just imagine a PG miniature version of Deadpool. She loves Flash and Deadpool. (No, I didn’t take her to see any of the Deadpool movies)

What is your first memory of seeing a film?

Honestly, I can’t remember which of these movies I saw first: Star Wars A New Hope, Ghostbusters, or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But I can tell you thanks to those movies I love sci-fi and my daughter likes Star Wars.

If you could live the life of any one person (living or dead) for 48 hrs, who would you want to be and why? Real person or fiction person?

Real person: I’d like to live the life of Mark Zuckerberg because he has accomplished to connect people without boundaries or limitations around the world plus the technology knowledge and vision he has is incredible.

Fictional person: I’d like to be the Flash so I can do a lot of things in 48 hrs., plus I can run back in time and create a new timeline to stay as Flash a little bit longer.

What, in your definition, is the craziest thing you’ve ever done in your life so far?

If I tell you I have to kill you. LOL!

Do you have a favorite Director or Actor whose work you admire and gravitate towards?

I have a few actors that I really admire but not because they are good actors. I admire them because of the kind of people they are and what they are giving to the world.  I think Dwayne Johnson is on the top because he is always motivating and pushing people to be better. Also, he is famous and he is still humble and takes time to talk to his fans.

Name one bucket list item that you have that is related to TV/Film/VR.

Be part of a movie or a TV show. It doesn’t have to be a leading role, I will be happy to just to appear and have one line or no lines like Silent Bob.

What story (book, comicbook, event etc) would you love to see adapted to film that hasn’t already been done? How about one that was a total fail that you wish someone else would take a stab at?

I would like to see Supernova. He is a space superhero from Marvel comics like Guardians of the Galaxy. I also can’t wait for some director to remake Dragon Ball or to make a live-action series, because the Dragon Ball Evolution is one of the worst adaptations I have ever seen. You could tell that the director and writers didn’t know about Dragon Ball.

What one LIVING person would you love the opportunity to have lunch with one day if you could and why?

I’d love to say Stan Lee but a lot of people already want that. So, I will go with my second option, Dwayne Johnson because he is a great speaker and motivator and I know I can learn a lot from him.

What's your favorite genre?

Movie genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy, and Sci-Fi

Music genre: Rock, Metal, Heavy Metal, Country, Jazz, Blues, and Classic

What Fandom is your guilty pleasure?

This is a good question and I don’t think I can answer it with only one Fandom. I have too many, I don’t even know which ones are my top five.

If you were stuck on a desert island, which three films would you take with you?

Well, I hope that deserted island has electricity, a house, a TV, and a blue-ray player because without that I couldn’t watch John Wick 1 & 2, and Iron Man.

Same desert island, name your favorite tv series of all time that you'd want playing on loop?

Another hard question because it will hard to decide between The Big Bang Theory or Dragon Ball Z.

What does Legion M mean to you?

Legion M means family because we all are fans of something. As fans we enjoy to meet and work with other fans and discuss our different theories we have about a book, TV series, or film. Legion M is the voice of the fans that no one else seems to want to pay attention to, but together as a big family we can let the world know that we are here standing strong and we are not going nowhere. I am proud to be part of Legion M family.

What is your first memory of seeing a film?

Probably one of the first films I can remember seeing in a theater was Back to the Future in the 1980s. It was such a great job by the cinematographer. I can still watch that entire series of films over and over again today.

What Fandom is your guilty pleasure?

I've always been a fan of professional wrestling. Not todays pro wrestling but the old school stuff from the 80s and 90s. I love posting gifs or videos of wrestling stuff on facebook in response to a comment.

If you were stuck on a desert island, which three films would you take with you?

Running Down a Dream Tom Petty Documentary 2007

Above the Law with Steven Seagal

Eraser with Arnold Schwarzenegger

What does Legion M mean to you?

I've been a filmmaker since 2007. I own my own production company and make a lot of films. Legion M is a chance to expand my networking and meet other filmmakers, actors and more and hopefully one day work on larger scale projects other than indie films. As an investor, It's also a pretty cool thing to say you are a co-owner of a Hollywood studio with people like Stan Lee and other Hollywood big names.

What do you do for a living?

I own a production company called Videography Services LLC & Live Bands Touring. I film a lot of local bands in Connecticut but I also work on indie films, make documentaries, produce high school sports live feeds for the NFHS Network, and do legacy tape to digital conversions. I also work on two monthly public access TV Shows here in Connecticut. One is about local bands called LBT TV (Live Bands Touring TV) and the other is about people who have made an impact in their town but has mostly been local sports heroes and it's called Hometown Heroes.

What are some of your hobbies?

I like to play guitar. Go see concerts. I love technical stuff and tech toys and what not. I'm very technically inclined and good with computers. And I love to edit almost anything. Editing is one of my passions and I just have so much fun with it.

What's your favorite genre?

My favorite genre of films is definitely action. I love documentaries too. But I also enjoy the others such as comedy or romance.

What, in your definition, is the craziest thing you’ve ever done in your life so far?

Hmmm.....good question. I've done some pretty crazy stuff. One of the more crazier things i’ve done is when I was in Ireland on Inis Mor' island my best friend Dana Price dragged me way out onto the middle of the island to see the blow holes. I have a fear of heights and he kept making me go further into the blow holes. Blow holes are where ocean water comes up from under the island and creates a fountain effect. I was so scared sitting on the edge of the blow hole knowing the water could erupt at any second.

Do you have a favorite Director or Actor whose work you admire and gravitate towards?

I love what Matt Damon and Ben Affleck did with Good Will Hunting as far as directing goes. And I'm definitely a big fan of Matt Damon as an actor. I’m also a fan of Russell Crowe as an actor and director. Love him in A Beautiful Mind. But I also like all the greats such as Spielberg or george lucas.

Light Side or Dark Side?

Light Side.......I am with Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.

Do you have a favorite book you’ve read? Or favorite author?

One of my favorite books I've ever read was the Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. It was a such a sad and beautiful story. I'm not a big reader. However, I recently worked on a film with an award winning indie film director and I bought his book. His name is Chris Esper and his book is called "The Filmmaker's Journey" Or what nobody tells you about the industry. It has been a great read and proving invaluable to my video work.

What story would you love to see adapted to film that hasn’t already been done? How about one that was a total fail that you wish someone else would take a stab at?

I can think of so many films that would be based on real stories that would make great films. Many of them from my own experiences in my life. I've been lucky enough to have lived a pretty extraordinary life. I've done so many cool and fun things I couldn't name just one film. I also don't want to give away any of my thoughts so someone steals my idea lol.

Ashley Love (Member Since: June 2017 from Maryland)

What is your first memory of seeing a film?

This is a really hard question! When I was little I use to watch movies with my mom often and my sister (who is much older than me) use to take me to the movies frequently too. I think the first actual movie I saw in theaters was Home Alone. I remember when it came out on VHS and I kept telling my dad he had to see it and that it was so funny. After that, we watched it so often I can pretty much repeat every line of the movie (which him and I would do when watching it later on).

What Fandom is your guilty pleasure?

The Simpsons will always be my primary guilty pleasure.  I enjoy collecting Simpson board game editions. Some others would be The Walking Dead, MARVEL (Deadpool being the fav.), The Flash, Bob’s Burger, Rick & Morty, X-Files and Harry Potter, plus so many more! 😆

If you were stuck on a desert island, which three films would you take with you?

Hmmm The Simpson’s Movie (to keep my simpson need in check), Little Shop of Horrors, and The Stand.  These were determined by “first three movies that pop in your head-go!” technique. I would be here all day if I gave it too much thought.

What does Legion M mean to you?

It gives me the opportunity to be apart of something I absolutely love and sharing that same passion and enthusiasm with others is amazing. I have always loved this kind of stuff; movies, books, comics, and just all the creativeness associated within this field.  While I am an avid movie junkie, never did I foresee me getting a chance to be apart of a company of this nature and feeling like I’m, in a small way, apart of that world. It’s pretty amazing to me. I hope to be able to provide more support to Legion M and help give other fans the same sense of voice, unity and excitement I have being apart of Legion M.

What do you do for a living?

I work in payroll/accounting/contracts for a government contractor. I love working with numbers and problem solving.  Nothing like a good challenge!

What are some of your hobbies?

Movies, binge watching tv series, making books/comics with my monsters (kids), reading/listening to books/comics, playing video games with my monsters - primarily LEGO games (they are so fun to me and I love the problem solving and puzzle tasks), Sims4, going on mini-adventures with the family, singing at the top of my lungs while driving, helping my husband support Special Olympics of Maryland (SOMD), Polar Bear Plunge and the Anne Arundel Police Department.

What's your favorite genre?

Horror/Psychological Thriller.  I enjoy comedies, action and pretty much all genres of movies, but horror is my favorite.  I think that is in part to my mom’s favorite author being Stephen King that I happily inherited from her.

What do you do for a living?

Writer (primarily a playwright), teaching artist and CEO of HEA, LLC (a medical education consulting company)

What are some of your hobbies?

Procrastination, creating art (at least I think it's art), cooking, reading mysteries/detective fiction, dancing like a fool.

What, in your definition, is the craziest thing you’ve ever done in your life so far?

After being robbed at gunpoint, I jumped in my car and chased the mugger's car for blocks (trying to get grab their license plate #) till a red light foiled my plans.

Maybe not the craziest thing I've done but certainly one of the stupidest.

What one living person would you love the opportunity to have lunch with one day if you could and why?

Gordon Ramsay. He'll yell at me and force me to get my act together - plus he can cook so the lunch would be good.

What's your favorite genre?

Depends on my mood.  Currently it's a toss up between South Korean action thrillers and French extreme horror.

Do you have a favorite book you’ve read? Or favorite author?

I'm a voracious reader so it'd be impossible to narrow down.  Right now I'm diving into the newest Michael Connelly "Bosh" novel and am eagerly awaiting Karin Slaughter's newest thriller.

If you were stuck on a desert island, which three films would you take with you?

All About Eve

Dead Ringers

All That Jazz *or* Cabaret

Same desert island, name your favorite tv series of all time that you'd want playing on loop?

Ricky Gervais' "Extras"

What does Legion M mean to you?

I've been working in and around Hollywood for years and have been frustrated by the closed system/circle jerk it can be. I love the idea of opening film/TV production up to The Masses (so to speak) and forging avenues for those outside the Hollywood norm to create and succeed.

Romantic Comedy & Superhero

What Fandom is your guilty pleasure?

Glee aka Gleek

What does Legion M mean to you?

Legion M is an amazing community that allows filmmakers and fans come together to bring the content we love to the big screen.

Do you have a favorite book you’ve read? Or favorite author?

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline & Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance

What is your first memory of seeing a film?

Would have to be Star Wars Episode IV while I was in the infectious disease pediatric ward unknowing what was to come. After seeing another young man overcome immense odds, it gave me hope that I too could conquer what I was battling.

If you could live the life of any one person (living or dead) for 48 hrs, who would you want to be?

Nikola Tesla b/c the rumors of what that man was able to accomplish is astounding.

What, in your definition, is the craziest thing you’ve ever done in your life so far?

Sporting a Rainbow Mohawk at a very conservative school as a dare after successfully raising over $3,500 to help Engineers Without Borders build bathrooms in a Honduran School.

Do you have a favorite Director or Actor whose work you admire and gravitate towards?

Absolutely love Mark Hamill, not just for his depiction of Luke Skywalker but also his diverse voice acting as the Joker, Trickster, and more. Director would be Steven Spielberg, there's not many that have directed so many notable and challenging films such as him; especially Ready Player One w/ the complete reimagineering of multiple classics.

What story would you love to see adapted to film that hasn’t already been done? How about one that was a total fail that you wish someone else would take a stab at?

The Magic Treehouse book series or the rest of the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan and his Roman series would be great either like Lord of The Rings style or episodics on Netflix.  The last Percy Jackson film - Sea of Monsters was a big disappointment and would love to see it remade in a few years.

What one living person would you love the opportunity to have lunch with one day if you could and why?

Elon Musk all the way; there's no other person that I'm aware of that is so in touch with the many issues plaguing our world today that also creates ingenuitive solutions and is able to prove so many naysayers wrong. His origin story fascinates me and he continues to surprise many with his plethora of endeavors that don't aim to make profit its main goal but the betterment of the human race.

If you were stuck on a desert island, which three films would you take with you?

This is a tough one; Star Wars Episode IV b/c it's my all time fav, closely followed by The Matrix but since I can only do three, I guess I'd do the Lord of the Rings trilogy extended editions to help pass the time... haha.

Same desert island, name your favorite tv series of all time that you'd want playing on loop?

The original Stargate SG-1, The Flash, & How I Met Your Mother would be my choices.

What is your first memory of seeing a film?

I'm pretty sure that would be "The Sound of Music". We saw all the major musicals when they came out. I was about 5 or 6. Julie Andrews had a voice that was one in a million. My family includes several artists, musicians, singers and actors, so I was exposed to music in my home a LOT - to include polkas. My dad loved all music from classical to country. Our home always had music and still does. This movie made me fall in love with Austria and Switzerland and I've been lucky to have seen in person many of the places in the film; even met Maria Von Trapp in Vermont

What fandom is your guilty pleasure?

I can just choose one. Stargate is right at #1, though. Also Outlander, True Blood, Vikings, and Game of Thrones

If you were stuck on a desert island, which three films would you take with you?

Assuming I had something solar powered to play them, I'd take "Gone With the Wind", "Wizard of Oz" and any James Bond movie, but "For Your Eyes Only" is one of my favorites.

What does Legion M mean to you?

It's active ownership, if that's what you want. I do like not only being an owner/investor, but being a contributor to its growth and success! I hope it will end up being a tremendous investment success of course!

What do you do for a living?

Well, a lot of things. I've always worked more than one job at a time most of my life. I am a "security expert" with several professional certifications to go with it (no, not a cop, PI or security guard; more like Government/Defense). Part of my job involves developing and presenting a LOT of training and creating training material content for briefings. Am multilingual.

I also own an herbal business (Raven's Nest Herbals, LLC) since 1986 and am a Chartered Herbalist. My shop is online and at various Renaissance and Medieval faires in the southeast. I put my language dialect skills into use as the "Village Apothecary" most of the time!

In my (haha) spare time, I am a dialect/language coach freelance.

What are some of your hobbies?

Herbalism/wildcrafting; hiking and going out into the Smoky Mountains with my husband any chance we can get, snow skiing, horseback riding, traveling all over the world. I do love film and am a member of the Sundance Institute; but I tend to have a stronger interest in what goes on behind the scenes to make it all happen on the screen!

What is your first memory of seeing a film?

I grew up in the Midwest, and my parents loved going to the drive-in for double-features.  We’d watch the first film together and then they’d put my sister and I to bed in sleeping bags in the back of our station wagon. I remember seeing Snow White and then secretly staying up to watch Jaws.  I was 3.  I still don’t swim in the ocean.

What fandom is your guilty pleasure?

Star Wars… Star Trek… Harry Potter… Lord of the Rings… X-Files… Buffy… Lost… Aliens… Game of Thrones… Walking Dead… Ummm… do I have to choose just one?
