San Diego Comic-Con Bound with Legion M!!
WEDNESDAY
I've always wanted to go to San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). I've had the chance to attend with a Professional badge in the past, but for one reason or another I couldn't make it. This year, thanks to Legion M, I not only attended, but I experienced a few once-in-a-lifetime events that I can't believe I was fortunate enough to participate in.
Wednesday morning, after a day celebrating Stan Lee with the handprint ceremony at the Chinese Theater and the epic Stan Lee House party, a bunch of us rode the Legion M party bus down to SDCC. Michelle and Matan organized the party bus a few weeks beforehand so that anyone in LA Wednesday morning could party “Legion M style” all the way to San Diego. Everyone eagerly boarded the VIP party bus and walked around looking at all the snacks and drinks that Michelle and Matan were kind enough to stock it with.
What an extremely fun way to get to SDCC! Time flew by. Jeff and Paul made rounds chatting with everyone and making sure they felt welcome and included. Thanks to the Unofficial SDCC Blog, there were also non-Legion M members on the bus who had bought tickets when they saw it advertised online. This was a great opportunity to introduce them to Legion M.
If you listened closely, you could hear intense and heartfelt discussions on Harry Potter. Questions floated around the bus, "What panels are you going to?" "Have you been to SDCC before?" "Who's camping out for Hall H?" "Were you at the Stan Lee Houseparty last night?" The whole bus was vibrating with emotion and anticipation.
There were flat screens on the bus for movies, but we were all enjoying each other's company and conversation so much that we forgot about putting a movie in. We were in San Diego before we knew it. Upon arrival, we hugged our new friends farewell with hopes of finding them again during the weekend. As for the Legion M members, there were goodbyes, but we knew it wasn't for long. We were about to experience some amazing times together in the coming days. Joe, Leesha, and I headed to our condo, and I relaxed the rest of the evening in preparation for the big day on Thursday. SDCC is going to be epic!
