This is a watershed moment in the history of Legion M’s Film Scout App. While Scout has been used in the past as an unofficial way to capture the opinions of the community, identify talented Elite Scouts, and rank/acquire films at festivals like Sundance and SXSW, it has never been adopted by a festival as part of its overall program… That All Changes Today!

Today, Legion M launches Film Scout as an Official Partner of Fantastic Fest 2022! Fantastic Fest is one of our favorite festivals, and we’re thrilled to not only be the official online portal for their 2022 merch, but to be able to offer Epic Prizes And Eternal Glory to those courageous Film Scouts who would dare to test their mettle in open gladiatorial combat… In other words: rate and rank their favorite films of the fest.

EPIC PRIZES

To the top-ranked Film Scouts of Fantastic Fest, the rewards will be extravagant and numerous. Free merch, free posters, Legion M gift cards – even a free pass to next year’s festival for the #1 ranked Scout. And for those of you who are more lucky than talented – we’ve got prizes for you too. ETERNAL GLORY

Those of you for whom material prizes hold no sway– Valhalla awaits. This is an Elite Scout qualifying event, which means the Top 5% of ranked participants (who complete the minimum 40 matchups) will earn the rank of Elite Scout (or double, triple, quadruple, perhaps even QUINTUPLE Elite for the seasoned Scouts out there). Beyond bragging rights, Elite Scouts earn fun opportunities from Legion M throughout the year, such as reviewing screeners of films we are considering adding to our slate.

The Fantastic Fest 2022 Film Scout event will be open until October 8, 2022, after which scoring will be locked and prizes distributed. But don’t wait! Film Scout, at its core, is about the love of movies, and it’s a great way to discover films playing in person (or online) at Fantastic Fest.
