Huge Summer Movie #2: Legion M Brings Green Day to the Big Screen (and the Film Fund!)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

  • Breaking news today re: Legion M's SECOND huge summer release...

  • We're partnering with Green Day, Live Nation Studios, and Inaugural Entertainment for the Aug 14th release of NIMRODS

  • Legion M earns P&A and distribution fees. If you'd like, you can be more directly involved by investing in the Film Fund

Last week we reported that our Film Fund allocation for Coyote vs ACME had sold out in less than 72 hours, but teased another soon-to-be-announced summer film that Legion M was attached to. Today, we're excited to reveal that Legion M has teamed up with Inaugural Entertainment to distribute Nimrods, the hotly-anticipated Green Day–inspired comedy that premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival!

Nimrods is a coming-of-age film centering on three high school friends who set out on a wild road trip under the mistaken assumption that their fledgling band has been booked to open for Green Day on New Year’s Eve. The story is based on Green Day’s real-life adventures while living in a van before the success of Dookie, their 1994 Grammy-winning major label debut album that has since been certified as double-diamond.

Nimrods, 2026

The film stars Mason Thames (How to Train Your Dragon), Kylr Coffman (Outbreak), Ryan Foust (Marry Me), Jenna Fischer (The Office, Blades of Glory), Angela Kinsey (The Office), Sean Gunn (Gilmore Girls, Guardians of the Galaxy), Bobby Lee (MADtv, Bad Friends Podcast), Fred Armisen (Saturday Night Live, Portlandia), and Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Afterlife, The Handmaid's Tale).

Green Day themselves (Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool) are producers (alongside Live Nation Studios) and appear throughout the film. Legion M and Inaugural are bringing the film to theaters on August 14, and we can’t wait for audiences to experience it.

Nimrods, 2026

Legion M earns a distribution fee from the release of Nimrods, which means that every Legion M investor has a stake in the movie's success (as always). But we also have an allocation of the P&A available in the Film Fund, for those who want to get more directly involved!

If you invested in the Film Fund during the allocation window for Fackham Hall (now streaming on HBO Max), we expect that 40% - 50% of your investment will be returned in time to roll over into Nimrods. This is the power of the Film Fund at work!

If you are new to the Film Fund, (or an existing investor who wants to double down!), the window will be open until the allocation sells out.

Marketing for the film has already begun. If you've been anywhere near the Hollywood Palladium this week, you may have done a double-take at the marquee...

And here's your first look at the teaser art, which pays homage to Green Day's original Nimrod (1997) album art:

Feel free to share the teaser art and tell the world about Nimrods! The more noise we make now, the bigger the moment when the movie hits theaters August 14th.

And get ready to hit the road with Nimrods this summer. It's going to be a hell of a ride!

Onward and Upward!
