The SXSW 2026 Film Scout Program is officially live, and you can begin scouting right now!

We’ve launched a brand-new version of the Legion M Film Scout app featuring this year’s SXSW lineup, curated to spotlight films with rights currently available; in other words, projects that could realistically become Legion M acquisitions. Your rankings will directly help inform what we pursue – and help you qualify for Elite Scout Status.

Please Note: Our "Play Online" web version is a work in progress and is best experienced on your mobile device. If you decide to play Film Scout on your desktop computer, shrink the width of your browser window to look more like a phone.

The Film Scout App means that everyone, not just those on the ground in Austin, TX, can participate in finding a film. Simply download the Legion M Film Scout app from the App Store or Play Online with any web browser, log in, and access the SXSW 2026 program. From there, you can review synopses, filmmakers, and rank the films.

The goal is simple: complete the SXSW program and help identify the titles that rise to the top (and have some fun!).

Leaderboards are back this year, and top scouts will earn Elite Scout recognition. When you play Film Scout, you’re not just telling us what films you want to see: you’re also predicting what films OTHER scouts want to see. That metric is something we can grade, and Elite Scouts are those who rank highest in being able to make those predictions. Elite Scouts are proven to know the tastes of the larger community, and often gain special access to unreleased film screeners, private screenings, and other opportunities which helps Legion M select films to distribute.
