We are looking for a talented creative development and sales executive (VP or above) to work directly with our executive team to help take this company to the next level.
Job Summary
Legion M Entertainment, Inc., “The World’s First Fan-Owned Entertainment Company,” is seeking a talented development and sales executive (VP or above) to work directly with the founders and executive team to build on the company’s recent momentum and successes, and to take the company to the next level. This executive will be a senior member of the Legion M team and will help the company’s growth by leading sales of all creative projects. This position will help build Legion M’s brand through the development, packaging, financing, sale and distribution of scripted series, unscripted series, feature films and transmedia properties as Legion M strives to reach our goal of one million shareholders.
With over $14 million raised from over 30,000 investors, Legion M is one of the most successful equity crowdfunded companies of all time. We’re coming off our most successful funding round yet, and after selling our first streaming series and producing the feature film “The Man In the White Van” (Sean Astin, Ali Larter, Madison Wolfe, Brec Bassinger), we believe the company has hit an inflection point. Now we’re looking to expand our development team with a dynamic individual who can help lead the next phase of the company’s development.
Daily Duties
Find, develop, package and sell Legion M’s TV and film projects, including scripted and unscripted series, feature films, and transmedia properties.
Work directly with the founders and executive team to develop and implement the company’s defined creative strategy.
Track competitive projects, industry trends and deals, and maintain awareness of the evolving TV and feature film marketplace.
Attend industry conferences and festivals to identify and liaise with talent and buyers, develop and maintain strong relationships, gain information on buyer needs.
Work directly with the founders and executive team to develop ways that we can harness the power of our community to create competitive advantages via mechanisms like crowdsourcing, message amplification, and harnessing the wisdom of the crowd. We have over 30,000 investors – how can they help us accomplish our goals?
Bring in potential projects and analyze submissions to determine viability of concept, production concerns/challenges, cost of production and creative direction with an understanding of the company’s brand and audience.
Foster relationships with high-level talent (writers, producers, directors, actors, authors, filmmakers, playwrights) and their agents and managers, identifying creators and showrunners and actively pursuing business with them.
Package projects for optimal sales positioning.
Create sales materials (professional pitch decks, financial models, and business model proposals), and provide clear and productive notes that serve to strengthen the project for sales.
Schedule pitches with buyers and perform all necessary follow-up, including submissions and tracking.
Communicate with all stakeholders, engage in diplomatic problem solving, and ensure projects are moving forward by holding stakeholders accountable with assignments.
Manage special projects and assignments as required.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience selling projects at a top talent agency, network, studio, or production company. We’re looking for someone who can work in all genres and content delivery mediums.
Demonstrated track record developing, packaging and selling projects.
Minimum Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent related work experience.
Television/streaming experience preferred over feature film experience.
Entrepreneurial nature demonstrating a growth mindset.
Strong, positive personality – assholes need not apply.
Excellent communication, strategic, presentation, creative and storytelling skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of the creative process from concept through production.
Strong existing relationships with buyers, talent and their reps (e.g., production companies, studios, networks, streamers, distributors, agents, writers, directors, producers, etc.) with demonstrated experience selling projects to studio, network and streaming buyers.
Strong leadership skills with solid operational and financial acumen.
Strong computer skills. We primarily use Excel, Word, Final Draft, Power Point, Keynote, Google Slides, and Slack.
Ability to prioritize work in order to meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under time constraints.
Must be detailed-oriented and organized

Must be able to problem solve within scope of responsibility

Compensation/Benefits
Competitive salary and equity package available for the right individual with a ton of upside with success. Overall compensation will also include health benefits, plus Legion M equity.
