Sneak Peek: William Shatner Documentary Terms

When you invest in Legion M, you are buying stock in the company. We tell people "it's like investing in Disney -- not the movie Snow White." If Legion M is successful and has an IPO (or some other exit), you win. If we fail and go out of business, you lose. It's a very high risk investment because most startups fail, and entertainment is a notoriously competitive industry. That said, if Legion M can beat the odds, we believe a fan-owned studio has potential to become one of the most influential companies in film and TV.

Earlier this year, we announced the fact that we were working with Exhibit A Pictures (the award winning documentary team behind our project Memory: The Origins of Alien) to produce a documentary about William Shatner. We also announced that we were going to allow fans to invest DIRECTLY in the film via an independent equity crowdfunding offering. This is our first time inviting fans to participate in the funding of a film. Unlike an investment in Legion M this isn't an "IPO or die trying" proposition, but instead a chance to get a return tied directly to the revenue generated by a single film. There's still a great deal of risk, but in this case it’s the risk typical of investing in movies: If the film flops you lose -- if it's a hit you win.

Investing directly in movies can be tricky because the business model is inherently complicated. Some people exploit this, which has earned Hollywood a reputation for being a place where fast-talking producers separate starry-eyed investors from their money. Legion M -- a company OWNED BY FANS -- is looking to change that by offering FAN FIRST FINANCING with terms designed to be easy to understand and let you know exactly what you are getting into. We know the path to success isn't about making a single movie, but building long-term relationships built on transparency and trust that hopefully can be lucrative for all parties.

Earlier we released the proposed terms of the Shatner Documentary offering, which we hope to launch before the end of the year. If you are interested, please take a look at the terms by clicking the button below and then tell us what you think. If you like what you see, we encourage you to make a reservation at: https://join.legionm.com/william-shatner-documentary. Reservations are non-binding (you will have the opportunity to make a final decision after you've seen the official terms), but will get you first on the list when the offering opens, and priority treatment if the offering sells out.

If you are considering investing in Legion M, you should know that startup investments like Legion M are speculative, illiquid and involve a high degree of risk. Statistically, most startups fail -- and when that happens investors can lose their entire investment. You should never invest more than you can afford to lose.

But if you can afford to risk at least $40 and want to swing for the fences, every great disruption starts with those willing to take a chance on something new. With risk comes potential for reward, and fortune favors the bold.
