Back To Where It All Started

We're headed back to the place that started it all for Legion M. If you are hanging out at SiliCon in San Jose this weekend, be sure to stop by and see us. Take pictures with Marilyn (the Legion M caddy) or check out our panels on Saturday at 2pm (Legion M: How the Power of Fandom is Changing Hollywood) and Sunday at 2pm (How The Pandemic Changed Tabletop Gaming Forever).

This will be our first time out at a convention since COVID, so we're not quite sure what to expect, but we’re all fully vaccinated and will be masking to ensure that we are having fun as safely as possible. The convention also has COVID protocols in place, including mask requirements, temperature checks, reduced capacity, extra space for social distancing, and more. So, if you are able to come out, we'd love to see you.

BLOG UPDATE: SILICON REVIEW

Legion M went to its first pop culture convention in over a year and half last weekend at Adam Savage’s SiliCon! This is the San Jose convention that launched Legion M in 2016 and it holds a special place in our history and hearts.

The event was our first toe in the water of face to face promotion of the company since COVID and was from all angles a great success.  Because the attendance was limited to 5000 per day there was a lot of space and everyone was very respectful of the safety requirements, so it felt pretty comfortable for everybody.  As always, our 1959 Caddy (named Marilyn) was a star of the show and drew a lot of people to our table. In fact, Bruce Boxleiter (Tron, Babylon 5) came over and signed her roof!

We had a smaller contingent with Jeff, Paul, David and our amazing investors/volunteers Leesha and Carolina.  Everyone was on point explaining what we do and handing out some fabulous Legion M swag: free Cheddar Goblin Mac n Cheese, beanies, and pins!  We even had a surprise appearance by Nic Cage as Red Miller… well sort of.  David donned the super realistic mask which is such a work of art that people did double takes all day.  It went on sale along with our new Cheddar Goblin mask this weekend!

Jeff, Paul, and David ran the Legion M panel for an enthusiastic audience on Saturday and then David led a virtual panel on the impact of the pandemic on tabletop gaming with master gamers Luke Gygax (son of D&D co-creator Gary Gygax), Elisa Teague (Think Geek creator), and Peter Adkison (owner of GenCon) which actually had a standing ovation at the end.  We really love this convention and hope that more of you can join us next year at SiliCon!
