We're Closer Than You Think
I wanted to share a quick video I recorded because I think we're seeing something important happening in the marketplace.
The recent success of Obsession and Backrooms has industry insiders talking. Both films entered the market with passionate, built-in audiences from their creator communities. That early edge (and the fact they are really well made films) helped turn them into cultural moments.

That's exactly what Legion M has been building for years!
In the video, I tell the story of seeing Obsession with my co-founder, Jeff, at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2025. We were among the first audiences to see it, and as we walked out of the theater we looked at each other and said, "Our community would love this movie."
So we went after it!
Sadly, we didn't have the financial firepower to compete once the bidding climbed into eight figures... but our instincts turned out to be right. Obsession was made for less than $1 million, sold for approximately $15 million out of TIFF, and has already generated more than $300 million at the worldwide box office. It's well on its way to becoming a billion-dollar franchise.
As disappointing as it was to miss out on such a great property, we can still focus on the positives: we're finding the right projects, getting into the right rooms, and building exactly the kind of advantage that can help create successes like this. I think we're getting closer every day.
