EPIC LA Premiere and William Shatner's 93rd Birthday Party w/ Kevin Smith

We couldn’t be more excited to announce the latest stop in Legion M’s Rolling Red Carpet Tour for William Shatner: You Can Call Me Bill. On Thursday 3/21 we’re going to converge on the wonderful Culver Theater for a red carpet screening of the film, followed by an EPIC afterparty hosted by Kevin Smith, on a soundstage at the same studio the pilot of Star Trek was filmed.

The evening begins at 4:30 pm when the red carpet opens. Unlike most red carpets – which are reserved for celebrities while everyone else stands behind velvet ropes – Legion M is opening our red carpet to everyone. We’re even bringing in our own ‘paparazzi’ to take your photo and send it to you via a digital link. So put on your best red carpet outfit and get ready have a moment – we’re opening the gates of Hollywood and giving everyone a chance to feel like a star.

The screening will begin at 7:00 pm at the wonderful Culver Theater. Originally built as a grand movie palace in the 1940’s, it’s been converted into a 7-screen state-of-the-art facility featuring cutting-edge video-wall technology. The theater is currently owned by Amazon/MGM, which uses it for many of its own premieres. And it’s run by a dedicated team of true film fans, who have been wonderfully accommodating to Legion M in helping us build our plans.

When the movie is over, it’s a short walk across the street to historic Culver Studios. While you may not be familiar with its name (it was formerly owned by Cecil B. DeMille, RKO, Howard Hughs and Lucille Ball/Desi Arnaz, among others), you are certainly familiar with films that were shot there, including classics like Citizen Kane, Gone With The Wind, King Kong, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Raging Bull, and E.T., along with modern day masterpieces like The Matrix, Kill Bill, Silicon Valley, I Am Legend, Night at the Museum, and Arrested Development.

It’s also the very same place where the 1965 pilot (as well as the 1964 pilot) of Star Trek was filmed. What better place to celebrate an icon than the place it all began!

This celebration will be special for a couple reasons. In addition to celebrating the release of the film -- the first to be completely financed, produced, and theatrically distributed by Legion M -- we'll also be celebrating William Shatner’s 93rd Birthday. Actor-writer-producer-comedian Kevin Smith has graciously agreed to be our Master of Ceremonies for the evening, and will lead us through a series of toasts to Bill, his 70+ year career, and his 93 trips around the sun.

While this is a HUGE event, we’ve worked really hard to make it as accessible as possible. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors (including Priceline, CCG Guardian, and Space for Humanity), we’ve been able to keep the prices low while still protecting the interests of the investors in the film and in Legion M.
