We thrive on the input we receive from our community, so when many of you made the suggestion for this amazing franchise-in-the-making... we listened. Now we are extremely pleased to announce that Legion M is partnering with OneDoor Studios to help bring Calculated (and its sequels) to the big screen!
Calculated is a modern “Count of Monte Cristo” set in Seattle and Shanghai, and follows Josephine (Jo) Rivers — a teen math prodigy with the ability to calculate anything in her head. The height of a building. The probability of a car crash seconds before impact. Maybe even the speed you’re reading this sentence — simply by looking at your eyes. After escaping her kidnappers, Jo must use her extraordinary gift to track down an international crime ring, while also working to prevent a catastrophic global financial meltdown.
Calculated is Legion M’s first young-adult property, and we’re extremely excited to join forces with the team at OneDoor Studios to help bring the novel series to the screen. They’ve worked on 23 major films and series (The Terminator, The Nutty Professor and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon to name a few) which have generated a collective $4 Billion in revenue. John Lee Jr, Executive Chairman, literally wrote the book on producing (The Producer’s Business Handbook) and Stephen Wollwerth, President, was one of the early pioneers of drone cinematography.
As a Legion M investor, you already own a small stake in Calculated (along with all the other projects on our slate). PROJECT UPDATES
Awesome Progress on CALCULATED!
2/17/24 — Since our last update, award-winning screenwriter Ann Peacock (Chronicles of Narnia, Outlander) has been working diligently on the Calculated screenplay, and after creating an amazing foundation to work from, author Nova McBee (who is a screenwriter herself) jumped in to put the finishing touches on the adaptation. In particular she has been working to ensure that the characters and story we eventually see on-screen align (as much as possible) to what fans of Calculated love most about the book.

Calculated Sequels
6/21/22 — The team at OneDoor have recently launched their campaign for the Calculated Sequels on Wefunder, opening with a smashing $500k, which has topped $850k in the short time the campaign has been live. Their early success is a testament to just how good this book series is — many have expressed to us that the sequels Simulated & Activated are as action-packed and exciting as Calculated, if not even more so.
Legion M has a stake in the Calculated sequels, so if you are an investor in Legion M, you already have an indirect stake in the Calculated sequels as well. However, if you would like to invest directly in the sequels, check out the terms and investor perks on OneDoor Studios' funding portal.
Screenwriter Announced
3/9/22 — Huge news for Calculated, our project with OneDoor Studios — we have officially found our screenwriter: Introducing... Ann Peacock! Globally respected in the industry for her novel-to-screen adaptations, Peacock's extensive film writing credits include "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," and the Emmy-winning script for "A Lesson Before Dying."
