Inside Comic-Con: The Man in the White Van Takes Center Stage with Press Interviews, Autograph Signings and an Exclusive Panel
Add another stellar year on the books for Legion M at San Diego Comic-Con with cast in attendance for our upcoming thriller, The Man in the White Van. If you missed it, the film will be releasing into theaters on October 11 thanks to our friends at Relativity. You can read more about that HERE.
Hot on the heels of the theatrical release news, we continued building buzz before heading to Comic-Con by working exclusively with the premiere horror site, Bloody Disgusting, to showcase the film’s new poster, which you can take a look at HERE. It definitely sets the tone for what to expect.
But back to the main event!! The day was full of energy as our stars, Madison Wolfe (The Conjuring 2, Malignant), Brec Bassinger (CW’s Stargirl, FInal Destination: Bloodlines), Skai Jackson (Disney’s Jessie, Bunk’d), Gavin Warren (Night Swim), as well as Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and writer / director Warren Skeels, were invited by a variety of press studios to chat about the film.
With stops for interviews that included Den of Geek, Collider, Screen Rant and more, there were plenty of questions about putting together a true-crime thriller, behind-the-scenes stories and how much of a dad Sean Astin was to everyone, on and off screen. The level of excitement between cast and media was apparent. Be sure to check out the interviews online!
After spending the day with the press, it was time for our panel. Moderated by The Man in the White Van producer, Terri Lubaroff, we wanted to treat our Legion M investors and the rest of the audience to many special surprises which included clips picked out by our cast and a sneak peek at the trailer. Don’t worry, if you weren’t in attendance, we’ll be working on showcasing it to the public soon enough.
The fun didn’t stop there and you know that we love our community - so Madison, Brec, Skai and Gavin made their way to the Legion M booth inside of the Convention Center to sign autographs for a very enthusiastic audience that wrapped around the block of booths in our section. We just might have some extras around, so keep your eye out for some fun giveaways as we get closer to release.
Meanwhile, we had an iconic picture van on the prowl roaming the crowded streets of San Diego, attracting attention and driving engagement. QR codes on the van linked to the new Instagram (@whitevanmovie) and the van itself served as a subtle but curious billboard for the film. The van had a magnetic speaker attached to the outside playing the film’s signature song, the Partridge Family’s “I Think I Love You”, drawing attention and adding to the subtle but creepy presence. Thank you to Legion M investor and classic car collector John Serna for his help with the van and driving. We’re so grateful!
San Diego Comic-Con kicks off the beginning of a very fun phase as we get closer to the theatrical release date for The Man in the White Van. As more film assets and interviews run across TV and digital - always keep in mind that it’s you, our investors and community members, that help make all this happen and we can’t wait for you to experience this awesome film in theaters in October.
Together, let’s make The Man in the White Van a success, shed light on an important topic, elevate conversations around it, support this breakout cast and filmmaker and continue in changing the film industry.
Thank you for everything - Onwards and Upwards!
