Since Legion M began opening up the gates of Hollywood to fans, our company's revolutionary Fan-Owned business model has gone from piquing the entertainment industry's interest to helping us grow into a proven industry player with more than 100,000 members and more than 25,000 investors. We've shown that harnessing the power of fandom not only makes good business sense for film and TV projects, but having a legion of fans backing projects from the get-go also improves the chances of success for our partners, including creators, producers and studios.

With this in mind, Legion M was invited to host a special discussion— Harnessing the Power of Fandom to Finance Film and TV Projects—at Winston Baker's annual Entertainment Finance Forum. Held on February 13 at L.A.'s beautiful Skirball Cultural Center, EFF was a full-day of keynotes, panel discussions, presentations, and workshops where industry leaders addressed investment, financing and growth strategies within film, television, streaming, mobile and more. It was also a premiere event for attendees to explore and gain insight into innovative business models, like ours.

Legion M's co-founder and president Jeff Annison led the discussion with our friend Lisa Whalen, partner and CEO at Company X / SpectreVision (Mandy, Archenemy), with Forbes Hollywood & entertainment reporter Simon Thompson moderating Jeff and Lisa's chat.

The discussion covered a wide range of topics, from Jeff detailing Legion M's beginnings and the company's impact on projects like Mandy, to showcasing our innovative Film Scout platform as a way Legion M is harnessing the power of the crowd to make smart business decisions like acquiring Memory: The Origins of Alien at Sundance.

Lisa discussed how SpectreVision's partnership with Legion M has positively impacted their projects, whether it was our financing of Mandy's award-winning score to the hundreds of fan meet-ups we organized at Mandy screenings around the country, which positively affected box office sales. She also shared Legion M's recent involvement as producer and financier for Archenemy, and how we've gone above and beyond the call, detailing how one Legion M member donated a car that was used in the film. Lisa emphasized how the Legion's emotional investment is of equal or even greater value to SpectreVision than the financial investment because it's what sets us light-years apart from other financiers and producers in Hollywood.

The discussion was received enthusiastically by an engaged crowd of directors, producers and financers. Jeff, along with Legion M's COO and head of content Terri Lubaroff, spent time after the panel networking with attendees. We'll be looking for more opportunities like EFF to highlight our incredible community and exciting projects, network with existing and potential industry partners, and showcase why we're proud to exclaim, "We are Legion M!"
