Film Fund Performance Report & Last Call For NIMRODS

Hey everyone! Amidst all the excitement of Nimrods and Coyote vs. ACME hitting theaters, we wanted to take a moment to provide an update on the performance and status of the Legion M Film Fund.

EXEC SUMMARY

  • Legion M launched the Film Fund earlier this year.

  • To date, it’s made nearly $2.5 MM worth of investments into Fackham HallNimrods, and Coyote vs. ACME

  • The Film Fund works hand-in-hand with Legion M, providing investors with two completely different ways (with different risk profiles) to invest in movies.

  • To date, investors in Fackham Hall have recouped 49% (in approx 6 months), which has automatically roll over into Nimrods.

  • While there is always risk, at this point we expect all three Film Fund films to return full capital and profits over time.

  • There’s still time to invest in Nimrods, but the allocation window is closing soon.

BACKGROUND

The Legion M Film Fund is a new offering we launched earlier this year that lets investors invest in Legion M distribution projects. It’s a completely different investment – with a completely different risk profile – than Legion M.

When you invest in Legion M (the studio), you are buying stock in the company. Your return comes if we’re successful enough to IPO or have an exit. It’s a high-risk, long-term investment, but returns are uncapped, and there is potential for high reward. You are investing like a venture capitalist.

When you invest in the Film Fund, you are buying a stake in the release of finished films. You get your portion of the sales revenue from these films until you’ve recouped your principal plus a predetermined ROI (typically 15%). The Film Fund focuses on deals with “last-in, first-out” economics which dramatically reduce risk. Returns from one project automatically roll over to the next (unless the investor requests a “cash-out”), with a goal of creating compounding returns.

So whereas an investment in Legion M (the studio) is a “swing for the fences”, the Film Fund’s goal is to string together singles and doubles that add up to wins over time.

To date, we've had three allocations for the Film Fund:

RETURNS FOR FACKHAM HALL

Fackham Hall was the first movie in the Film Fund to be released, and the first to generate returns. As of this writing, the movie has returned 49% of the amount invested – even though the allocation window closed less than 6 months ago. Unless an investor requests a cash-out, these funds will roll over into Nimrods.

If you invested $100 during the Fackham Hall window, $49 will roll over into the release of Nimrods. As the remaining funds come in, they will be added to the pool for Legion M's next release.

This is what compounding returns are all about. There’s always risk, but at this point we expect Fackham Hall investors will receive all of their capital plus the full 15% profit over time. But even while we wait for final returns, money that’s already come back is being put to work in the next release.

HOW LEGION M AND THE FILM FUND WORK TOGETHER

While the two offerings are completely different, they work hand in hand. As the Film Fund grows, so does Legion M’s firepower, and our ability to level up to larger and larger projects. Even though the Film Fund is less than a year old, we’ve already invested nearly $2.5 MM in Fackham HallNimrods, and Coyote vs. ACME. The film fund investments allowed us to secure positions that benefit ALL shareholders of Legion M.

The bigger the Film Fund gets, the better deals we can get for Legion M. And vice versa.

From an investor’s perspective, we believe the Film Fund provides the perfect counterbalance to Legion M. Investors now have the ability to choose between two offerings with completely different risk/return profiles.

  • Want to take a big swing on a high-risk moonshot? Invest in Legion M to own a piece of the studio with uncapped potential for returns.

  • Prefer a more conservative investment with the ability to cash out returns? Invest in Legion M Film Fund.

No matter which option you choose, it helps Legion M as we continue our march to open the gates of Hollywood and allow fans to stake their claim on the movie business!

LAST CALL FOR NIMRODS

As of this writing, our allocation for Nimrods is approximately 82% sold. After a completing its theatrical release, the movie will be available on VOD this month, and we plan to close the offering soon.

If you want to invest, we encourage you to do so now. All the details are available on the offering page.
