Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose: Theaters and Meetups

We couldn't be more excited about the release of Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose. We’ve been involved with this project for over a year now, and have had the opportunity to work closely with director Adam Sigal throughout production, including having investors on set, panels at Comic Con, and creating a special "post credits scene" with the names of over 4,000 Legion M investors.

Legion M is an executive producer, which means we have a financial stake in the film. This is what we’d consider a “first generation” Legion M project, which means that our investment and upside are relatively small. The purpose of this project – like all of our first generation projects – has been to serve as a stepping stone to larger (and potentially more lucrative) “second generation” projects like William Shatner: You Can Call Me Bill and My Dead Friend Zoe.

The movie is being distributed by Saban Films, which is taking a digital-centric approach to the US release. The movie will be available in a relatively small number of theaters (65 was the latest count) starting Friday Sept 1st, and then in your living room via digital starting September 19th.

Legion M is supporting the theatrical release with our first meetups in nearly 4 years and we currently have dozens of meetups scheduled across the country. We’ve got a new meetup design which is intended to be easy and casual. You don’t need to pre-register or commit to anything – the meetups are simply intended to be a way for you to make a connection with other Legion M folks in your area. Meetup hosts will be armed with some fun goodies and a sign-up sheet to enter to win one of the cool prize packages we're giving away. If you want to hang out and chat that’s great, but if you want to just say hello, grab your swag and go watch the film, that’s fine too.

If you are lucky enough to live near a theater playing the film*, we encourage you to check it out. It's a great way to support Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose, as well as the independent theaters that are playing it. When you do, be sure to stay until the VERY END to see the special Legion M post-credits scene.

If you don’t have a theater playing the film, you won’t have to wait long, as it will be available everywhere via digital within just a few short weeks.

Either way, we hope you enjoy the film. As an investor in Legion M, you own a little piece of it.

Onward and Upward!

Except where specifically noted, screenings for Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose will be available at the following theaters starting September 1st. If a meetup is planned, general details will be posted in bold text under the theater location. Check back regularly as we will continue to update the meetup details as they are confirmed.

Looking to attend at meetup? All you have to do is get your tickets and show up to the theater at the appointed time (unless a host has specifically asked for an RSVP). Hosts will typically be in the lobby for check-in and to hand out swag. If you have any questions, please email team@legionm.com and we’d be happy to help.

*TBH, we're a little disappointed that the film isn't going to play in more theaters. Legion M has no say in distribution for this movie (unlike our second generation of projects like William Shatner: You Can Call Me Bill, and My Dead Friend Zoe, where we control distribution). Saban is a smart and capable distributor -- their decision to focus on digital release is based on the state of the market today (including the lingering effects of Barbenheimer, which is still occupying a significant number of screens), and what they believe is best for the film. As an investor in the film, we want the same thing.
