Work in progress on the Robert Smalls mural panel by artist: Malcolm Byers, which is part of the Black History Mural Project by the Shining Light Foundation. Shout out to Legion M Investors Seantelle W. and Terry C. for making the trip and capturing video and photos.

Seems like just yesterday that we were ringing in the new year, but here it is, already February. While we continue to gear up for all the great things that are getting ready to happen in the coming months, we’d like to take a moment to reflect back on what an awesome start to 2024 we’ve had.

January 2024 Rewind

  • My Dead Friend Zoe to Premiere at SXSW — to start the year off, we announced that MDFZ (starring Ed Harris, Sonequa Martin-Green, Morgan Freeman, and Natalie Morales), which is just finishing up post-production, will be having its world premiere at the SXSW film festival in March. The event is happening on March 9th, so if you are considering attending, add your name to the interest list to stay updated on ticket information.

  • Big News on our William Shatner Doc — After appearances at prestigious film festivals around the world, Willian Shatner: You Can Call Me Bill is finally hitting theaters nationwide on March 22nd, which is Bill’s 93rd birthday. Check out the official trailer and pre-order your tickets TODAY to get a free limited edition pin.

  • This is Not Financial Advice Lands on Fuse TV and Digital — Legion M’s compelling doc, This Is Not Financial Advice, was released via Fuse TV and can also be found on-demand via Apple TV, Amazon Prime and Google Play. If you’ve already watched it (or once you do), we would love to hear what you think of the film, so be sure to leave a review on Rotten Tomatoes.

  • Work in Progress on Robert Smalls Black History Mural — Spearheaded by producer Marvin Jones III, team Defiant was unbelievably honored to announce that Smalls has been included in the Black History Mural Project event being organized by the Shining Light Foundation.

  • New Year, New M-Pulse — We're moving full speed ahead to find more amazing projects for Legion M. We've got some interesting opportunities brewing, so we asked you to fill out our latest M-Pulse survey so we can hear what YOU think about some potential upcoming projects.

As mentioned, we are beyond thrilled that William Shatner: You Can Call Me Bill will be releasing nationwide on March 22nd. To celebrate we're working with renowned movie poster illustrator Paul Shipper to create a series of limited-edition collectible pins exclusively for those who pre-buy tickets.

Note: all ticket presales are 100% refundable so if the film isn’t playing in your area or you change your mind, you can request a full refund.
